Gordon Jacques Kahn, Architect AIA
Gordon Jacques Kahn, Architect AIA, was born in Manhattan and has lived there for most of his life. He attended the Bank Street School for Children, the Scarborough Country Day School and Columbia College.
At Columbia College, Mr. Kahn studied architecture under the direction of Robert A. M. Stern, graduating in 1980 with a BA in Architecture.
After graduation, Mr. Kahn worked in Mr. Stern’s office for three years, and then in the office of Philip John Franz Associates as Senior Associate. He started the firm of Kahn and Polletta in 1990, in which he was one of two principals. In 1999, Mr. Kahn opened the firm Gordon Kahn and Associates, LLC in Manhattan and is the sole principal.
Mr. Kahn’s work is residential and includes new residences, additions and alterations to significant existing residences, new townhouses, existing townhouse alterations and apartment alterations and combinations. This work is located primarily in the New York Metropolitan Area, but is also in Massachusetts, Colorado and Vermont.
The firms’ work has been published numerous times in Architectural Digest, Elle Dacor, Country Living and various other publications.
A member of the American Institute of Architects, Mr. Kahn is licensed to practice architecture in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and Colorado.
